Stuff That Matters is challenging the men’s deodorant market with its just-launched range of body sprays.
Claiming 72-hour odour protection, these deodorant sprays use quick-dry, no-stain technology to deliver maximum freshness. And they won’t stink out the whole changeroom.
Skin-nourishing ingredients like lion’s mane mushroom, green coffee and manuka oil work to protect and care for your pits.
The Melbourne-born brand, which also makes face and body products using local botanicals and essential oils, was the first Australian men’s brand to launch in Sephora last year.
Founder Hunter Johnson reckons the personal care category for men has been ripe for disruption after decades of dominance from tired old brands.
“For so long it has been dominated by outdated conglomerates who perpetuate tired and toxic stereotypes that don't represent modern masculinity,” he tells Broadsheet. “We’ve witnessed an amazing amount of innovation and evolution in the female space, but next to nothing for men. It’s a white-space opportunity to provide a positive narrative for men in a time when there aren’t many.”
As the brand evolves, the team are keen to work with men who are “the real deal”. Kalyn Ponga, the current captain of the Newcastle Knights, and Western Bulldogs’ Bailey Smith front the brand’s latest campaign.
“As elite athletes, they challenge outdated hyper-masculine stereotypes that have restrained men for too long,” Johnson says. “Instead, they boldly express themselves and prioritise their mental wellbeing and self-care – what Stuff That Matters is all about. Their example is crucial for the next generation, particularly amid the ongoing crisis of male suicide and gender-based violence.”
Stuff That Matters Confidence Antiperspirant Deodorant Spray, Sport Antiperspirant Deodorant Spray, Good Fella Deodorant Body Spray and Smooth Operate Deodorant Body Spray are now available at Woolworths.
