It's a wild year for high-profile restaurant pop-ups in Sydney. France’s Mirazur just concluded its residency at The Gantry, Gordon Ramsay is here for three nights next month, and three-Michelin-starred English restaurant L’Enclume arrives in July.
Now comes the news that New York’s Eleven Madison Park is coming in June, as part of Vivid Festival and its new pillar, Vivid Food. The phenomenally famous restaurant holds three Michelin stars and took out top spot in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants competition in 2017. It made global headlines again when chef Daniel Humm dropped all animal products from the menu in 2021.
Humm and his team are heading to Sydney for two weeks, to take over the kitchen at Aria. Working with Aria’s local staff, they’ll deliver two tasting menus: a nine-course for dinner ($550 per person) and a shorter tasting version for lunch ($395), with drinks pairings available. Those who can afford – and get – a nighttime booking will dine against the backdrop of Vivid’s eye-catching Light Walk.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to participate in Vivid Sydney and bring Eleven Madison Park to the iconic Aria Restaurant,” Humm said in a statement. “This year’s theme of 'Naturally' closely resonates with our core values and journey as a restaurant. We’re excited to delve into New South Wales’ fresh and local ingredients to bring a creative, beautiful, and delicious menu to life with Chef Matt and his team.”
Eleven Madison Park pops up at Aria from June 6–17, 2023. Tickets go on sale from Friday April 28.
