Mary Street Bakery’s fourth location is underground at Allendale Square. Unlike its sister venues, the spot runs a separate breakfast and lunch menu, rather than an all-day brunch offering. Owners Michael Forde and Paul Aron are determined to manage each venue individually, shaping them to meet local needs.
The menu may be slightly different but, as always, the focus is on using local and seasonal produce and offering an eclectic selection. You can expect to see a full a la carte breakfast and lunch menu, plus a number of grab-and-go salads and sandwiches at the counter for convenience.
The spacious 80-seat venue draws in a dedicated work crowd throughout the day. The coffee is sourced from O’Connor-based roaster Pound Coffee and the freshly baked breads and pastries are delivered straight from Mary’s baking headquarters in West Leederville.
The fit-out incorporates elements of timber and mesh, in line with the original Mary Street Bakery style. Here, though, a tiled bar front and sharper furnishings create a more refined finish.
