Beach Road Hotel
Set a few blocks back from the sand, the Beach Road is where Bondi locals go to drink. Although, this being Bondi, your chances of finding some blow-ins are also pretty good. But the Beach Road doesn't discriminate; it offers carefree vibes, plenty of different bar areas, a sunny courtyard and live music.
Downstairs, the public bar is a gigantic room anchored by a large rectangular bar. There's sport on the telly, couches for groups and a pretty broad cross-section of Bondi residents. Out the back is a sunny courtyard, which becomes prime real estate during clement weather. Upstairs houses the live music space, where most nights you can see bands and DJs banging out tunes, while the back bar offers a less raucous experience than downstairs.
Beach Road has pretty much everything you could imagine to drink, including an astonishing selection of beers on tap and a healthy (albeit unimaginative) wine list. The bistro area is constantly busy and the food rarely veers too far from pub grub standards such as steaks, burgers and pasta, though the more recent addition of Truckstop by the guys from Eat Art Truck may change all of that.
And so if you find yourself down in Bondi and want to know where the party is at, chances are it's at the Beach Road.
