Daisy's Milkbar is owned by couple, Jessica Barnes and Jake de Varine-Bohan. It’s everything the name suggests; playful, cute and fun. It has a pastel-blue shopfront, gingham window decoration, coloured wooden booths and a big daisy-shaped neon sign on the wall.

The couple wanted to create a fun, welcoming vibe, inspired by old Australian milk bars. Though Daisy’s has nostalgic elements – including a lemonade stand with little bottles of cordial that customers can add to their table water, and bags of lollies for sale – the menu is modern.

Breakfast and lunch options include scrambled eggs with pesto and Persian feta on toast; a breakfast burrito bursting with bacon, eggs, chorizo, jalapeño and coriander; and a panko-crumbed haloumi wrap.

There’s also a range of extravagant desserts and milkshakes, which nod more to American diners more than Aussie milk bars. The salted caramel banana split or blue heaven shake are sure to put a smile on your face. For a real dose of nostalgia, order an ice-cream spider.
