Paddington's Five Ways recently welcomed Melbourne label Henne into its fashionable fold. Taking over the Glenmore Road terrace next to Californian brand Anine Bing, Henne has made itself known to the neighbourhood with several launch events in recent weeks.
Now the team plans to grow its new-found community. “Our Sydney boutique is more than just a retail space,” founder and director Nadia Bartel said in a statement. "We are committed to fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity within our NSW community.”
The revamped 19th-century space features interiors by designer Brahman Perera, who also did the fit-out for Henne’s Prahan store. Split across the multi-level address, Henne’s new store has an almost residential feel – like you’re raiding your most-stylish friends’ chic walk-in wardrobe.

SIGN UPPerera views designing retail spaces like crafting a stage or a set, where the clothes are the main characters. For this project, he drew inspiration from abstract expressionism artists like Willem de Kooning, and Theaster Gates.
Mirror finishes, vivid citrus-yellow perspex accents and a striking red staircase deliver on personality. There’s also pitted timber beams, gathered changing room curtains and an enviable collection of vintage and handcrafted pieces that bring warmth to the space.
Good lighting and good lights are another feature. Melbourne artist Moya Delany has crafted a striking pendant that hangs in the space. And a series of wall lamps are courtesy of Mexican makers Ohla Studio.
Customers can expect to find the brand’s signature denim in-store, alongside seasonal favourites (knits and outwear for now) and trending silhouettes. There are also pieces from LA-based jewellery brand Heaven Mayhem available exclusively at the Paddington store.
The new boutique will offer one-on-one or small group styling appointments to help customers build their capsule wardrobe from early August.
