“I like wearing something with a story behind it,” says Talia Cox, a public relations account manager at Sydney marketing, communications and PR agency Example. She often repurposes bygone pieces from relatives, and is rarely seen without her zodiac necklace. With a job dedicated to representing clients including hospitality group Merivale and restaurant Matteo Downtown in the best possible light, Cox must also carefully curate her own look.
“I like to keep what I wear quite simple – fresh, relaxed leisurewear that can be dressed up when needed,” she says, admitting living in Bondi rubs off on her relaxed look. Her wardrobe is a revolving door of crisp shirting; loose-fitted, high-waisted pants; and matching two-piece suits – always teamed with a fresh pair of white Superga sneakers or at night, heels.
1. Hair
In accordance with her Bondi lifestyle, Cox prefers a relaxed, tousled look. She swims after work and lets her hair dry salty.

SIGN UP2. Make-up
“I like to spend the money on a good foundation, like Fenty, and then for the other stuff like mascara or eyeliner I walk down to Chemist Warehouse. I actually think their products are much better.”
3. Skincare
Cox opts for a streamlined edit of serums from The Ordinary.
4. Zodiac necklace, cancer, gold – $89.95
“This was a gift from the owner of Winona in Bondi. The lady who owns it comes to our events and she gave it to me for having her at a dinner. Being in a creative industry allows you to have a bit more fun with what you wear to work.”
5. Lucy Folk Anchovy cuff, yellow gold plate – $350
Cox likes to stack textured jewellery together, creating different levels. “None of my jewellery matches. Some people hate mixing and matching gold and silver – it doesn’t bother me as long as it means something to me.”
6. Lemonade Marala pant and Marala shirt, navy – $145 / $125
“For me, comfort is key. In PR, you’re often on your feet and have to do a lot of running around. I wear this all the time because it’s so comfortable; it’s like wearing pyjamas. It’s a ‘How do you try and look a bit polished, but still comfortable?’ kind of suit.”
7. Gucci black vintage heels
“My grandma gave them to me six months ago. She kept them in perfect condition … they were one of the first pairs of shoes she bought when she was younger. She used to save for months and put a deposit down to buy them. They’re my favourite go-to heels for work because they bridge the gap between a kitten heel and a stiletto.”
