It’s been reported this week that CBD restaurant Sepia will not renew its Sussex Street lease when it ends in two years’ time. That’s not to say that all the things we love about Sepia will be gone forever. Restaurateur Vicki Wild and chef Martin Benn are reportedly already working on ideas for what will come after Sepia. While they are yet to find the right location, and won’t confirm a name for any future venue, word is that it will not be in the fine-dining style of Sepia. It will, however, be in Sydney.
Sepia featured on the 2015 World’s 50 Best Restaurants list (which confusingly, is actually list of 100) along with Quay (58), Attica (32) and Brae (87), coming in at number 84. Its placement in the top 100 shows the respect and recognition the international restaurant community has for the dining experience that Sepia offers. We recommend getting in while you still can. Don’t miss the opportunity to dine in one of the world’s most-respected restaurants.
