Like your meat cooked low and slow? Then it’s time you met Black Betty, the new BBQ at The Oxford Tavern, designed to serve up American smoked meats as well as Australian classics.

The Oxford was refurbished by the Drink’n’Dine team (The Carrington, The Norfolk and House of Crabs) late last year. Now the BBQ offering is ready to warm cold winter weekends. Sitting proud in the Tavern’s beer garden, constructed of brick and two tall black smoke stacks, the BBQ will be heating things up from July 19. You’ll be able to enjoy the BBQ menu every weekend, with meats cooked overnight (18 hours) and ready to serve from midday the following day.

Dishes will be sold by the 100 gram, and you can expect the menu to include pulled pork, brisket, huge dino ribs, smoked chook and burnt-end beans. Not to mention monthly events such as the whole hog (all pork cook-up) and the sausage fest (with 15 different sausages) slated for the coming months. The Black Betty BBQ menu will be available until sold out every weekend, but never fear, the usual pub menu will still be on offer too, so you won’t go hungry.
