Tommy’s Manly
Menu
Mexican and South American flavours rule at Tommy’s. This northern beaches spot is an elegant sequel to the Darlinghurst original, with intimate tables flanking both sides of the moodily-lit space. Owners David Cooper and Brett Ayton have tapped chef Ricardo Lemus – who’s done stints at top Mexican restaurants including Ensenada’s Manzanilla – for a menu of ceviches, tacos and share plates heroing NSW produce.
A romantic Friday night date is one way to experience Tommy's, but the versatile menu here screams feasting with friends. A keenly priced banquet option ticks of house favourites including chicken tinga empanadas, kingfish ceviche and a 500-gram rib eye steak for the table. Dessert could be churros with coconut gelato and dulce de leche mousse.
As at Darlinghurst, Cooper and Ayton are bringing a strong agave spirit game to Belgrave Street. Avocado-washed and pineapple-infused tequilas make their way into cocktails, alongside daily made syrups, cordials and juices. It's hard to look past the namesake, shaken with jalapeno-infused tequila, pineapple, agave and lime. If Margaritas are your thing, come for a bottomless lunch featuring spicy or classic Margs and a seven-dish menu from Wednesday to Sunday.
