Deliveroo Launches in Adelaide

Get food delivered from Antica Pizzeria, Burger Theory, Nola and more.

Your Friday night Netflix binges just got easier. UberEATS launched in October last year. Today its global nemesis Deliveroo joins the fray, offering deliveries across Adelaide from 35 restaurants.

Right now the list includes Antica Pizzeria CBD and Hyde Park, Burger Theory, Jack Ruby, Jamie's Italian, Niño’s Lamesita, Nola, The Henry Austin and Two-Bit Villains. Delivery is available within a roughly three-kilometre radius of each participating restaurant.

“We’re super excited to be here,” says Levi Aron, Deliveroo’s country manager. “If I had it my way, we’d have launched a lot faster.”

To place an order visit the Deliveroo site, or download the app from Google Play or the App Store. You can order on-demand to a private address or park, or schedule a delivery between midday and 11pm. The minimum spend is typically $25, and delivery is a flat $5. Unlike UberEATS, Deliveroo uses pushbikes and motorised scooters transport orders.

Adelaide is the seventh Australian city to get Deliveroo, after Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Canberra.

Like Uber, Deliveroo has had a meteoric rise. The service launched in London in 2013 and now runs in 130 cities across 12 countries.

Foodora, the third major player in Australia's food-delivery market, is yet to establish itself in Adelaide.
