“Everyone in Adelaide likes to eat somewhere, drink somewhere and dance somewhere else,” says Sunny’s Pizza co-owner Ash Wilson.
A year on, the gang’s party-sized ambition to mix all three under one roof has filled a gap we didn’t even know was there.
This Saturday, Sunny’s celebrates its first 12 months with $10 Margheritas and Margaritas. It has a nice ring to it. And it’s a steal. As are Young Henrys imperial pints for $10 a pop.
The Sunny’s boys are serial pizza collaborators, but they’ve given a winemaking contact the call-up this time around. Gentle Folk Wines have helped craft a Sunny’s exclusive rosé – called “Solar Power” – that will launch on Sunday, just in time for summer. Peculiar Familia’s Carlo Jensen is behind the label’s design.
Melbourne’s Wax’o Paradiso and No Zu will headline Saturday and Sunday nights respectively. Local DJs will man the decks in between.
Get in early. This will be big.
Sunny’s Pizza’s First Birthday Weekender is on Saturday November 4 and Sunday November 5.
