Borsa Pasta Cucina

Named after the Italian stock exchange, Borsa is a traditional Italian bistro that fills the stomachs of Adelaide’s business set. From fresh pasta airing in the kitchen to etched-crystal glassware and a vintage Faema espresso machine, the venue smacks of old-school charm, adding a touch of sophistication to the tired Black Stump precinct.

But this is no mobsters’ den. Lunch hour buzzes the attentive team flits between tables charming the suits and skirts. The food is homely and generous with dishes such as spaghetti chitarra alla carbonara finished at the table, for added theatrics. Banquet menus are offered for both lunch and dinner, and are excellent value for what you get.

In the kitchen from 9am daily, the chefs bake bread and prepare fresh pasta so it has time to rest before service kicks off at 11:30. Another house specialty is “U Porko”, a Barossa-reared Berkshire pig, delivered each Monday to be used in any number of daily specials throughout the week.
