Dough’s fig-and-fennel loaf is the approximate size and shape of a soccer ball sliced in half. The crust is thick and crisp; the steaming middle is ripe with juicy fig and peppery fennel. It’s a delight to tear into one of these loaves.

It’s what keeps people returning to this Central Market stall for special occasions, but the daily fare of sourdoughs, baguettes and rye breads makes it a popular everyday bakery, too.

Dough is also renowned for its breads, but also creates imaginative pastries, cheesecakes and slices, which are served at sister cafe, Market Street.

The Golden Gaytime mini cheesecakes bring back sugary childhood memories. The fancy éclairs (raspberry, salted caramel, hazelnut or chocolate) will make you feel like a real adult.
