After a long career in the art world, Jasmine Smith turned her passion for collecting handmade, authentic pieces into a beautiful space on the Gold Coast. St Barts was born. The Brisbane store opened soon after.

Both stores are filled with homewares from Jasmine’s buying trips to India, Morocco and Indonesia. They’ve become the go-to shops for boho enthusiasts to decorate their city digs and seaside homes.

St Barts’ effortless, eclectic style feels right at home on Brisbane’s James Street. As the name suggests, the store is reminiscent of a Caribbean getaway with whitewashed walls and blue hues throughout.

The focus is decorative, ranging from pillows, rugs and kitchenware, to art, ceramics and lighting. There’s also plenty of inspiration from nature, with textures from potted tropical plants, opalescent shells, rustic woven wicker and glossy-blue ceramics.

Even if you’re not decorating a home, St Barts is a great place to buy gifts and stock up on beach-holiday essentials. You can find oversized beach towels, turquoise jewellery, wide-brimmed hats and beach bags big enough for an entire day out.
