Ananas Espresso
Features
When the owner of Care For My Tummy decided to sell his business, loyal customers Marissa and Paul Robins snapped up the cafe and transformed it into Ananas Espresso. They’ve since focused on shaping the diminutive cafe into a community hub boasting a solid breakfast menu and personable service.
Ananas means pineapple in several languages – French, Slovenian and Hebrew to name a few. Fittingly, it’s also the universal symbol for warm hospitality and Queensland’s unofficial state fruit.
Though no pineapples are found on the cafe’s menu, you can expect to find reliable brunch permutations featuring eggs, sourdough toast and avocado sitting alongside freshly made sandwiches, milkshakes and fruit smoothies. For something different, try Ananas Espresso’s signature toasted bacon butty with HP sauce or perhaps spicy Texas slow-cooked beans with pork mince and bacon.
The homely vintage-industrial fit-out of retro tableware and namesake framed pineapple prints set the scene for a leisurely brunch. Meanwhile, those on the run can opt for a house-made baked treat as well as a coffee, smoothie or milkshake to go.
