Though the sleek and sophisticated Enoteca Sileno relocated to this spot in 2004, it's been around since 1982. Everything here is premium – from the olive oils and balsamic vinegars to the vincotto and preserved black summer truffles. For Christmas and Easter, the panettone are delicately hand-wrapped and filled with gourmet fillings such as gianduia cream (a hazelnut chocolate cream from Piedmont), pear and fig. Once part of the site was a restaurant, but it was removed to make the store even larger and more comprehensive.

The enlarged space carries an enormous range of wines, many of which it imports itself, plus an impressive selection of delicacies for your antipasto plate. Everything is labelled with the product’s origin so you can gloat about your pesto from Liguria or the Prosecco that was flown in from Treviso. Any item can be ordered online and delivered, if you so desire. Enoteca also runs regular cooking classes, so you can learn what to do with all this lovely produce.
