Features

Addict quickly gained a loyal following when Greg Brassil and Joe Ventura opened in mid-2014. The Coffee Communications Culture Group (the same that owns Sir Charles, Liar Liar, Loco Coffee and more) bought the business in 2015, with Brassil going on to open All Good Coffee in the CBD.

Addict’s interior remains the same, with an understated palette of black, white, wood and concrete punctuated by pops of plant life and the works of local artists hanging on the walls.

Head chef Ryan Lynch shapes an all-day breakfast and lunch menu, with solid offerings for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free appetites. Clean-eating creations such as chia puddings, salads and the essential avocado are rounded out by the more indulgent French toast, bacon and brioche.

The coffee here is a serious affair, with an Axil Coffee Roasters blend for milky cups and a Sir Charles roast for black. Filter coffee comes from A Coffee, Dukes Coffee Roasters and Maker Fine Coffee. It can be made via a Moccamaster for batch, pour-over for a super fresh cup, or cold brew for balmier days.
