On Saturday March 28, Thornbury beer bar Carwyn Cellars planned to host the inaugural edition of Carwyn Collaborational, a big street party pairing beers from 12 of Australia’s best breweries with international partners.

Now the bar has announced the festival won’t run until October 24.

“The focus of the festival has always been on collaboration between international and Australian breweries, which involves international guests flying into Melbourne,” Carwyn Cellars said in a statement. “Considering the current global climate and the ongoing spread of Covid-19, we’ve made what we consider the only socially responsible decision and that is to postpone the festival.
“The good news is that the festival will still go ahead later this year, and it will be even bigger and better than originally planned!

“We’ve contacted all local and international breweries, and we are confident of retaining the same stellar line-up of the original festival, as well as adding a few more big names. Expect more beer, more breweries and more collaborations!”

Tickets for the original event are transferrable for the rescheduled event, but ticketholders who’d like a refund can obtain one by logging into Eventbrite.
