• Chef Trisha Greentree of Sydney’s Fratelli Paradiso will be in Melbourne for a “Pinoy Pasta Party” dinner at Askal on Monday July 29. The eight-dish menu will be a Filipino-Italian crossover and include a spin on a typical Filipino breakfast of tinned sardines in pandesal.
• Yan, the Asian smokehouse in South Yarra, has introduced a vegan banquet. For $69 per head, dishes include braised winter melon with smoked almond cream and Szechuan oil, and Yan’s signature dessert of coconut ice-cream.
• Co Bake Space co-founder Alice Bennett, also known as Miss Trixie, has released a small collection of “Big Slice Energy” Olympic-inspired tees, caps and totes.
