Funlab is the crew behind the string of bonkers Holey Moley minigolf bars, video-game-arcade bar B Lucky & Sons, and nostalgic Strike bowling alleys around the country.

Now it’s brought the three concepts together under one roof for Freo’s first taste of the funhouse brands, which opened at Fomo Kings Square (Walyalup Koort) in February. It follows the opening of Holey Moley, Strike and circus-themed amusement park Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq at Karrinyup last year.

The 350-person Walyalup Koort site has been transformed into a retro-style motel – a first for Funlab – filled with weird, wacky and nostalgic rooms, and a swim-up-bar-inspired pit stop serving beers on tap and colourful cocktails.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Holey Moley, Strike and B Lucky & Sons to Fomo Kings Square for Fremantle locals to experience Funlab on a whole new level,” said Blaise Witnish, chief growth and innovation officer at Funlab. “The incredible motel-style venue design is a first for us, and it was inspired by an all-inclusive resort, where guests can roam and try out all of the amenities, and we hope that’s exactly what happens here in Fremantle.”

Multi-sensory minigolf course Holey Moley debuts seven new holes, including one with a crashed UFO and debris from Golfzilla, and another with a “floor is lava” theme. Strike has eight lanes, two karaoke rooms, and a private bowling experience inspired by West Hollywood’s famous Viper Room.

Adult video-game parlour B Lucky & Sons will have iconic arcade games – from classics like air hockey, Skee-Ball and NBA Hoops to newer favourites like Jurassic Park and VR simulations – plus a speak-easy-style bar pouring boozy bubble tea and slinging pizzas and toasties.
