Barangaroo House
Barangaroo House is one of a kind. Sydney architects Collins and Turner designed the building to look like wide bowls stacked on top of each other. Each level contains a different venue: House Bar on the ground floor; Smoke Bar on the roof; and Bea, a fine-dining restaurant between the two.
All three venues are operated by Matt Moran and the Solotel Group, who spent four years designing and building before finally opening in December 2017.
When ascending the sinuous wood staircase from House to Bea to Smoke, make sure to look up. Each landing has an abstract sculpture by Sydney artist Luke Storrier, but the ceiling boasts the largest piece, an elegant wood artwork floating overhead like a mahogany-coloured stingray.
