When Huxtaburger opened in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood in 2011, people queued in the street. Now, the burger joint is coming to Sydney, as part of an ambitious national expansion strategy that will see it open 50 burger outlets in the next five years.
And where will its first Sydney outcrop be? Redfern, of course.
“Redfern has such an eclectic dining scene and hidden gems all around the neighbourhood, so we’re excited to join the area and serve up Melbourne’s well-loved Huxtaburgers to a brand-new burger loving crowd,” Huxtaburger CEO Matt Fickling said in an official statement.

SIGN UPThere are currently six Huxtaburgers in Melbourne; Perth, the first city chosen for the roll out, will have three by the end of 2018; and the new Sydney operation will follow.
Huxtaburger Sydney is slated to open at 66 Regent Street, Redfern, at the end of July.
