The mood is eclectic but sexy at Cntnr 1.0 (pronounced “container”). The matte-black, 40-foot shipping-container-turned-cabin-in-the-woods offers floor-to-ceiling windows that take in the gum-laden surrounds of the Scamander River.
A custom-made raised red-carpeted bed references ’70s conversation pits and takes prime position in a window-wrapped corner. There’s a fireplace for cosy days and nights. The galley kitchen (which is equipped with fresh coffee and an Alessi coffee maker, among other essentials) features a breakfast bar with orange stools. And the bathroom offers a generous walk-in shower.
The outside is just as enticing as the inside at this stay. You’ll find a sunken pink bathtub on the paved patio. Mid-century armchairs overlook the firepit, which has plenty of wood and kindling. And there’s a deck with two sun loungers closer to the river.
