Spencer Tunick wants to see you naked. The US photographer is known for organising and capturing large nude installations in notable locations.
Although his career began in New York 30 years ago, Tunick is no stranger to Australia. He’s shot nude bodies in Melbourne parks and parking lots and both inside and outside the Sydney Opera House, but he’s never had an exhibition in Australia until now.
Tide will run from September 28 to November 10 at the Brisbane Powerhouse and is part of Melt Festival. It will showcase works from Tunick’s Tide series, which documents bodies along the Brisbane River.

SUBSCRIBE NOWLater this week, Tunick will temporarily shut down the road over the river to assemble and shoot a barrage of bare bodies on Brisbane’s Story Bridge. If you’re keen to take your clothes off and become a part of the artwork (as one Broadsheet editor did back in 2018), there's a call out for volunteers. Volunteers will each receive a print of the final work. There’s also a cash bar at Howard Smith Wharves, open from 9am, for anyone looking for a drink to warm up after having a nippy nude morning at the shoot.
