Bobcha
Menu
Bobcha has a few Margaret River region stamps on its passport. The modern Korean outfit started as a market stall in the Great Southern town before upgrading to a brightly decorated food truck. It quickly became known for its fried chicken, BBQ pork, and Korean takes on burgers and nachos.
It’s permanent iteration serves the same great food, with the added convenience of table service and a liquor licence. Expect local craft beer on tap from Rocky Ridge and Eagle Bay Brewing Co, and wines from Margaret River producers like LS Merchants and Vasse Felix. Korean rice wine and Soju round out the menu alongside non-alcoholic Korean sodas.
The food is a culmination of years of development so it’s all killer, no filler. The japchae (sweet potato glass noodle stir-fry) is silky with crisp veg and hints of wok hei (smokiness). Bobcha’s mandu (Korean dumplings) are packed with seasoned pork mince and served with soy sauce. There are also familiar Korean favourites like bulgogi (marinated and barbequed meats) and gan-jang chicken (a glaze of ketchup, Korean chili paste and soy sauce), and several dishes built around head chef Jindu Kim’s well-known fried chicken, which come with generous toppings and salty-sweet sauces.
