What’s happening around town
• Rocco’s Bologna Discoteca is heading to the bay for a mashup party with sandwich slinger Saul’s on Saturday November 2 from 3pm to 7pm. Rocco’s will bring its beloved meatball sub, while Saul’s will serve its pastrami sanga. And the pair are combining forces on a new eggplant cutlet sub.
• This time last year, Matti Fallon’s Mornington restaurant Colt Dining burnt down during its first month of trade. To honour the short-lived venue, he’s bringing the “Colt Classics” to his new spot, Mr Vincenzo’s. Today till November 4, get fried oysters, yabby toast, sticky lamb ribs and a burnt banana tart, plus Darjeeling tea milk punch and a briny caperberry Martini.
• The tenants of East Brunswick Village are throwing a party on November 10. Expect a limited edition brew and soft pretzels at Bridge Road Brewers, HSPs from Rumi and falafels from Rocket Society. Artist Beci Orpin will be there too; she’ll be making snack box treats – like sushi and pita pockets – out of paper.
