Merely six weeks after we all lost our minds over Taylor Swift’s Surry Hills dinner and strange obsession with Sydney Zoo, the Emerald City has had another brush with Tinseltown.

Zendaya – alongside co-stars Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist – came to town to attend the Sydney premiere of the new film from Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino, The Challengers (aka sexy throuple Wimbledon).

While Zendaya’s attendance at last Tuesday’s premiere was confirmed, no one knew if she’d be sticking around to take in the sights and soak up the pre-Easter sun.

Well, not only did Zendaya stay in town, she painted it red, popping up everywhere from Newtown to Potts Point to Bondi.

The Dune star dropped into CBD concept store Chinatown Country Club and then visited King Street vintage store Irreplaceable. While some celeb-watchers were shocked to see the famously fashionable star – whose wardrobe includes no shortage of designer rags – pawing through the racks in Newtown, I was not. In fact, every time I’ve ever finagled my way into a piece from a hipsterific King Street vintage store, my first thought has always been “This would look better on Zendaya”.

While inner-west locals were speculating over whether she might return to the 2042 postcode later that night for a natty wine at Enmore Country Club or a Martini and free popcorn at Bar Planet, the former Disney star made her way over to Yellow in Potts Point. Yellow is famous for its refined six-course vegan and vegetarian tasting menu.

The next day Zendaya was spotted perilously double-parked on Campbell Parade, heading into Sean’s Panorama in Bondi. The romantic and red-fronted Sean’s from chef Sean Moran, a quintessential Sydney spot, serves an exclusively Australian wine list, a produce-led menu and much-loved desserts.

All in all, it was a brilliant series of choices from the woman I’m willing to call my future best friend.
