This year, Melbourne’s Rising Festival will be more spontaneous and accessible, offering a range of exciting experiences across the city. Visitors can expect to see crane-sized marionette puppets at St Paul’s Cathedral, 10,000 kazoos taking over Fed Square, two special Paul Kelly shows at Melbourne Recital Centre, and much more.
Staged from June 7 to 18, Rising 2023 showcases the work of 400 local and international artists across 185 events held at various hubs and outposts in the heart of the city. This walkable supercluster of artistry is a “celebration of Melbourne's unique culture”, achieved by blending diverse art forms such as dance, cinema, sculpture, and large-scale installations.
