A trio of long-awaited new hot springs and spas might be opening in Victoria this month, but there’s also change afoot at one of the state’s most iconic bathing locations.

Fingal’s Peninsula Hot Springs is set for a $10 million glow-up, thanks – in part – to a $3.3 million injection from the state government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund.

“We’re about to see a massive emergence of the entire visitor economy across Victoria and across the country,” Peninsula Hot Springs group chairman Charles Davidson said in a statement.

Following a $13 million expansion that was unveiled in 2018 – and the addition of glamping in 2021 – what’s planned for Peninsula Hot Springs’s next evolution includes a luxe new accommodation option. Three eco lodges will each be comprised of a 60-square-metre master suite that connects to its own garden, where you’ll find a hot-spring bathing pool just for you.

There’ll also be three new freestanding outdoor massage “pods” hidden amid the wilderness – for a completely immersive and even-more-relaxing experience. The plan is to add 44 more massage pods in the future.

Plus, a new 16-person relaxation and sleep lounge will be added to the existing Spa Dreaming Centre, and a roof will crown the amphitheatre cafe for extra sun coverage.

Peninsula Hot Springs’s new experiences will open in 2024.
